I don’t know who needs to hear this but: profitable businesses fund themselves from their own cash flows - by selling products not equity.
Most startup/scale up CEOs are good at revenue generation. And arguably they have been buying revenue with VC money for the last few years.
Where they have little or skill is in cost management. Particularly understanding the drivers of cost in their business that do and don’t impact growth.
Currently there is a belief in startupland that more revenue will cure all ills. We’ll see if that hypothesis is correct.
