The urban-dwelling wealthy can choose to live anywhere in the world. NYC is competing with Paris and Barcelona and London and other world-class cities that are taking climate, pollution, equity-enabling social services, infrastructure, and overall quality-of-life much more seriously than we.
If we're going to retain our status as the greatest city, the next mayor must set a goal of making NYC the greenest, most walkable, bikeable, breathable, and transit-rich in the world, bar none.
