Great piece Charlie! The criss cross crossing of different people, paths, interests, and ideas is what makes NYC great.

Really love this one, Charlie! Not many, if any cities where it’s possible without tremendous effort to regularly interact with such a diverse swath of people. I love the anecdote about the iron worker who started volunteering at the boathouse after seeing you guys’s work while she was literally hanging from the Brooklyn Bridge! People I’ve met through run clubs bring that same diversity in every sense to my life.

Thanks Charlie, love reading your blogs. Also can’t fathom why you would leave this multiculti city for some suburb! Says the CEO, mother of 3 kids, and wife of working-from-home husband in our NYC 3-bedroom rental! If we weren’t strapped, I’d buy an apartment now!!

I like how your writing has evolved over the years, mixing up all sorts of ingredients to create an interesting narrative. And I LOVE New York for the gem it always has been and for its soul my family got to see over the last 12 months. Thanks for this coverage.
