Hey Charlie, may you and your family be well. Thanks for addressing this issue. As a Black professional on a mission to bridge the economic divide in tech, your voice makes it a little easier for me to continue my mission.

Racism is a core pillar and integral part of the fabric of our country since the beginning of this mighty union. Racism is a group competitive team sport of extracting land, wealth and anything that isn't nailed down from one group to the dominant group based on the construct of color and race. It is old, evil, and inherently unfair (ex: our education system, financial system, medical & legal system...). It robs our children of their innocents, poisons humanity of trust and renders millions spiritual bankrupt.

What can we do to combat this vile disease. Invest human capital in learning the true history of the Americas, and work side by side with Black Americans on the Frontline of eradicating systematic racism from the hall's of our "great institutions" brick by brick, book by book. Let's heal and reclaim our souls. One man's thoughts.

Excellent post. You did an outstanding job laying out the socioeconomic and historical factors. Kudos. He's part of a clique in tech that should be observed for moves they make that have an impact on society as a whole, especially considering their personal views, and power positions. But otherwise they should be ignored. They're toxic. With his history, he's the last person to be listening to, and for LPs to hand money over to. Cheers!

Charlie Charlie Charlie…. This is the first opinions piece I invested the time to read in 2022…. Thank you and as a 60 year old black gay tech founder from who Christian home with two loving parents , I can tell you that everything you shared rings true in my experience for many reasons… and being Black is just one of them…. And still I climb, I wait, I slowly rise…. But I’m the end we all lose if white men don’t call each other into accountability. The only qualification for being a VC guy is that you have access to somebody else’s money to make decisions that are profitable and hopefully you can do that while making the world a better place.

Great articulation and topic most people, especially non-minorities, never want to talk about good on you for sharing your voice!
